The Dallas Cowboys seem optimistic about Dez Bryant returning toward the sooner side of some of the estimated timetables we have heard. On Thursday, team owner Jerry Jones told reporters he is feeling good about Bryant making a quick recovery.
“We want him keeping in shape and keeping all the ligaments around it in shape,” Jones said, per ESPN.com’s Todd Archer. “He can. I just had a great visit with him. The pain is going away by the day and that’s important. His procedure gives me a lot of confidence that he will be able to have a positive recovery.”
After it was announced that he had broken a bone in his foot, the initial timetable for Bryant’s recovery was 4-6 weeks. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport said last weekend that Bryant is expected to miss 10-12 weeks after undergoing a bone graft, while ESPN’s Ed Werder reported that the bone graft performed should help and result in a 6-8 week recovery period.
While the Cowboys have not said exactly how long they expect to be without Bryant, Dez recently sent a tweet indicating it could be sooner than some are reporting.
