Former No. 3 overall pick Adam Morrison has racked up an enviable amount of awards and honors over the course of his basketball career. He won back-to-back championships with the Lakers in 2009 and 2010, was selected to the All-Rookie Second Team in 2007, and was a First-Team All-American and Division I scoring leader back in his college days. Just don’t expect to find the Personal Hygiene Award anywhere in Morrison’s trophy case.
Wizards forward Jared Dudley, a teammate of Morrison’s on the 2007-08 Bobcats, told some rather stomach-churning tales about the Gonzaga product’s sense of cleanliness in a radio interview with 106.7 The Fan DC in Washington on Monday.
“Remember Adam Morrison?” said Dudley via the Washington Post. “He never took showers, he did the chewing tobacco that he spit all the time, and he wore the same three polos the whole year. This is a guy who made a lot of money, too, at that time. He was the face of diabetes, he was doing everything, he was on the cover of college games, he was [everywhere], and he was by far the worst and [most] disgusting.”
“He was playing when I was there, that’s the thing, he was playing,” Dudley continued. “He then tore his ACL, that’s when he didn’t play, but he was playing when I was there. He was playing like 30 minutes a game. Gerald Wallace had to force him to take a shower one time. Had to force him. Imagine that. Imagine forcing a grown man to take a shower. He should be ashamed of himself.”
Excuse me while I reach for the nearest vomit bag.
Oh man, I can only imagine how badly that Bobcats locker room reeked whenever Morrison was around. Probably the most ungodly mix of salty-smelling tears, mustache sweat, day-old chicken breast, expired milk, and mediocrity. Sorry Adam but no amount of championship rings in the world will ever be able to make you live this one down. Absolutely revolting.
