The continued development of Teddy Bridgewater will be crucial to the success of the Minnesota Vikings this season, and Adrian Peterson believes that the former Louisville star is coming along just fine. Or, at the very least, AP feels Bridgewater is a major step up over Christian Ponder.
When asked on Wednesday about the poise Bridgewater has shown this season, Peterson took a cheap shot at Ponder.
Adrian Peterson, on Teddy's poise: "I can say this: If Christian Ponder had that same poise he would probably still be here playing,’’

Ponder started the majority of Minnesota’s games from 2011-2013. The Vikings finished with a combined record of 18-29-1 during that span and lost the only playoff game in which they appeared. Peterson has never really shown support for Ponder publicly, and he made some remarks before last season that certainly did not make Ponder feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
As long as Peterson is at the peak of his game, the Vikings really need Bridgewater to be more of a game manager than a playmaker. He has thrown just one touchdown pass and two interceptions through three games, but the Vikings are off to a 2-1 start. In many ways, winning is all that really matters for a quarterback.
Ponder remains a free agent, but the good news is he gets to spend more time with his beautiful wife. I’d much rather do that than play alongside a superstar who is going to criticize me.
