Berra was one of the most beloved figures in baseball. An 18-time All-Star and 10-time World Series champion, Berra was known for his quips and quotes as much as his on-field success.
Some of his greatest lines included:
– “90% of the game is half-mental.”
– “Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded,” regarding a crowded restaurant
– “It’s déjà vu all over again”
The New York Yankees legend made his MLB debut on Sept. 22, 1946, exactly 69 years before his death. He hit .285 with 385 career home runs and is considered one of the best catchers in MLB history.
One of Yogi’s favorite quotes was, “it ain’t over till it’s over.” For Berra, his time on the planet is over, but his legacy lives on.
