Accuser's lawyer: "My investigation indicates (the bag) may have been represented to me in manner I don't have confidence in.''

Eoannou’s announcement comes a day after he went public saying the rape kit had been tampered with. He said it was found on the doorstep of the accuser’s mother and was ripped open. The new development may mean that the bag was not tampered with.
Eoannou made it clear that the story of the bag does not affect the woman’s allegation. He said based on the way the story of the bag was told to him, “it’s my ethical obligation to withdraw.” The bag was authenticated by the Erie Country Medical Center, where the rape exam was performed.
The Blackhawks star has not been charged with any crime, but a grand jury will investigate.
