UCLA redshirt junior cornerback Ishmael Adams was arrested Sunday morning for allegedly trying to steal a cellphone from an Uber driver on campus.
Adams was arrested for suspicion of felony robbery at 3:36 a.m. on Sunday and is being held on $100,000 bail. He has not yet been charged. The cornerback is due in court on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
“We are aware of the situation and continue to gather information. As this is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time,” a UCLA spokesman said of the matter.
Adams is a two-year returning starter for the Bruins and made history by returning two interceptions for touchdowns last season. The Bruins open up the season Saturday against Virginia.
Adams has recently been getting deep on social media:
I'm being attacked by satan, can you please pray for me? #Godbless

In times that you don't understand, just realize how blessed you are and remember what got you to this point. #inGodiTrust
