Isaiah Thomas stuffs Trevor Ariza dunk attempt in Pro-Am game (Video)

5-foot-9 Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas isn’t exactly known for his hops or for his rim protection. But on Saturday, Thomas proved that his vertical leap is a lot closer to Nate Robinson’s than it is to J.J. Barea’s.

The 26-year-old stole the show over the weekend at the first-ever Seattle Pro-Am vs. Drew League game by soaring to reject a dunk attempt by 6-foot-8 Rockets forward Trevor Ariza, who poses a height difference of 11 inches.

Ariza blew by a lazy Spencer Hawes closeout in the corner and drove baseline, thinking he had a clear lane to the basket. But little did Ariza know that The Pizza Guy was waiting in the shadows ready to eviscerate his soul.

I think Roy Hibbert just blushed.

After being traded two times in the span of the last 13 months, it’s probably safe to say that Thomas carries a huge chip on his shoulder. And Ariza was simply the latest unfortunate casualty of The Rage Of The Isaiah.

Good luck ever showing your face on a basketball court ever again, Trevor. And forget Kelly Olynyk, Jordan Mickey, and Tyler Zeller. Isaiah Thomas is the rim protector the City of Boston deserves.
