Many people were surprised when Arizona State announced that Bo Graham resigned Monday from his job as running backs coach for the Sun Devils, a position he had held for the past three seasons.
Graham’s father, Todd, who runs the program, was vague when talking about his son’s reason for resigning, saying it only had to do with personal reasons.
CBS Sports’ Doug Gottlieb shed light Wednesday on what went on with Graham that led to his resignation:
#1 Arizona State assistant coach -Bo Graham resigned due to relationship w/former #ASU athlete (relationship began when she was a student)

#2 Arizona State has set rule that prohibits any coach from having a relationship w/student, regardless of age

Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Bo Graham resigned when his relationship was exposed to athletic department

Maybe the resignation will lead to Graham ascending in the coaching profession rather than remaining in the same position he’s had under his dad for a few years, so perhaps it’s not all bad news. Graham was a college student in 2001 and graduated in 2006, which pegs his age at around 32.
