The New York Mets pulled off what’s being called the “Play of the Year” after recording a wild 1-3-1 putout in Thursday’s game against the Philadelphia Phillies.
Jeff Francouer was batting in the 10th and hit a comebacker to Carlos Torres. The ball ricocheted off Torres’ leg/foot to first baseman Daniel Murphy, who dove for a backhanded stop, then made a no-look toss to Torres for the out.
Mets pull off one of the most insane defensive plays you'll ever see. http://pic.twitter.com/yaY0OzEsZE
