The Los Angeles Dodgers completed a crucial sweep of the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday night, and one of their owners clearly understood the importance.
After Clayton Kershaw lead the Dodgers to a 2-1 win with a 15-strikeout complete game, team owner Mark Walter couldn’t contain his excitement.
Dodgers owner Mark Walter, walking by the entrance to the Dodgers clubhouse just now, quite loudly: “Who swept the Giants?”

Because of the sweep, the Dodgers now lead the Giants by 6.5 games in the NL West division. Had the sweep gone the other way, the pennant race would have become much more interesting heading into the final 30 games of the season.
For what it’s worth, Walter should probably try not to get ahead of himself. The Dodgers haven’t won a championship since 1988. The Giants have won three since 2010.
For more analysis on where the Dodgers currently stand, let’s ask fellow team owner Magic Johnson.
