Terrelle Pryor: Browns making mistake by waiving me

Terrelle Pryor

The Cleveland Browns continue to leave fans confounded.

The Browns waived Terrelle Pryor on Thursday, days after surprisingly keeping him on the 53-man roster.

“This will be a mistake by them,” Pryor told Cleveland.com.

Pryor was trying to make it on the Browns as a wide receiver after transitioning from quarterback. He didn’t get much of a chance to show his stuff because of a hamstring injury, which made it even more surprising that Cleveland stuck with him so long before finally deciding to let him go. They picked up RB Robert Turbin from the Seahawks instead.

“It’s hard to just have that be a project for a year. We’re looking for the returns on that investment to be sooner than later,” head coach Mike Pettine said of Pryor. “I think he’s shown that he’s capable of it, but for him, it’s about being consistent, knowing what to do, being available from a physical standpoint and then going out there and executing. He’s going to get every opportunity in practice to do that.”

So much for him getting every opportunity Pettine talked about … We figure that at some point Pryor will be signed by a team, potentially even the Browns again.
