A group of San Francisco 49ers fans were caught on camera brutally beating a Minnesota Vikings fan outside Levi’s Stadium Monday night.
According to a description from the person who shared the video on Facebook, the fight began when the victim and a 49ers fan were “talking smack” to one another. The witness claims the Vikings fan shoved his own wife into a barrier to try to get to the 49ers fan he was originally arguing with and then antagonized several other Niners fans.
A lot of fans from both sides were telling both people to stop and just walk to their cars. The Viking fan shoved his wife into a barrier to try to get to the 49er fan, then at that point the 49er fan walked away from the situation and that’s when the Viking fan may have got a little cocky. The Viking fan turned around and addressed everyone behind him (mostly 49er fans). He said ” what’s up, any of you fuckers want some?!” At that point everyone went silent for 2 seconds then as the Viking fan was turning around to walk away, the 49er fan in the black (at the beginning of the video who threw the first punch) tackled him to the ground. That’s where the video starts.
The witness also added that the Santa Clara Police were nowhere to be found, and you can see stadium security trying — unsuccessfully — to break up the brawl.
We don’t know what actually happened before the video started rolling, but there are very few things that would justify one man being beaten by several others and kicked in the head while he’s on the ground. This isn’t the first time we have seen an alarmingly violent incident involving 49ers fans. It’s unfortunate people have to let allegiances to sports teams come to that.
