You knew South Park would take on the embarrassing Deflategate saga at some point during its latest season, and the writers of the show decided to waste no time.
Roger Goodell, Tom Brady and everyone else involved in the seven-month long (and still going) Deflategate scandal were all brilliantly mocked in the South Park season 19 premiere. The highlight was a dream Cartman had in which Brady, Goodell and Bill Belichick — all depicted as Cartman, of course — bickered back and forth about who broke the rules.
“You broke the rules how you found out I broke the rules,” fake Tom Brady said.
“I’m the commissioner and I can break the rules because you guys broke the rules before and I didn’t bust you enough,” Goodell fired back.
Basically, the Deflategate nonsense was summed up perfectly in just over 30 seconds. And just like they did last year with the Washington Redskins quarterback situation, the South Park writers kicked off their season with a perfect NFL takedown.
