Jason Pierre-Paul tried to quiet rampant speculation on Tuesday night by sharing a workout video on social media that briefly showed his surgically-repaired hand.
Shortly after a report surfaced that indicated Pierre-Paul lost a portion of his thumb in addition to his entire index finger in a 4th of July fireworks accident, the defensive end shared the video you see above. While he didn’t provide a close-up view of his right hand, Pierre-Paul wasn’t exactly hiding it.
Pierre-Paul vowed to return soon in his caption.
“God can turn any situation around for the better,” he wrote. “Your hard times will lead to the best times of your life. Don’t believe the hype … Be back soon! #90PC #ImAFighter #PutMeInCoach.”
Pierre-Paul has yet to sign his franchise tender with the New York Giants. He met with the team last week, but contract talks broke down and the team left the meeting feeling that JPP is not close to being ready to play. ESPN’s Dan Graziano reports that Pierre-Paul had another procedure on his hand less than two weeks ago.
