Hulk Hogan begs Vince McMahon for second chance

Hulk-Hogan

Terry Bollea has not given up on his dream of carrying on the Hulk Hogan legacy, and he is hoping his former boss will one day forgive him.

In a lengthy interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated earlier this week, Hogan revealed that WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon forced him to resign after word surfaced that Hulk made racist remarks while a sex tape featuring him was being filmed in 2007. Hogan says he never even spoke to McMahon but instead contacted Triple H, whose real name is Paul Levesque, and explained to the WWE executive, who is also McMahon’s son-in-law, what had happened.

“I never talked to Vince. The only person I talked to was Triple H,” Hogan explained. “I called him and told him there was some old news coming out from when TMZ first reported the tape and there were some racial slurs on it. Triple H said, ‘OK, thanks for calling. Let me talk to Vince.’

“He called me back a half hour later and he goes, ‘I’ve got some news and it isn’t good. Vince said that you need to resign.’ I never heard from Vince or talked to Vince. In the middle of the night, they just fired me.”

Hogan’s lawyer had previously claimed Hulk resigned because he did not want to put the WWE through the public relations nightmare, but that clearly wasn’t the case. And now, Hogan is begging McMahon for a second chance.

“I’d love to sit down and connect with Vince,” he said. “A lot of people make mistakes. If we were all judged by our weakest moment, it would be a sad world. If I had a chance to work with Vince and help people, we could help fix a lot of things together.”

Hogan has apologized on numerous occasions and even said the fallout from the rant has made him contemplate suicide. It doesn’t help that he also made homophobic remarks.

Even if McMahon believes that Hogan is sorry, bringing him back would be horrible for business. There are too many people who will never believe that there was no truth behind the things Bollea said.
