Simple Care Tips for the Bathroom Sink

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

At the end of a long day, all we want to do is relax in our comfort zone. However, a home with a dingy bathroom isn’t exactly what we have in mind when we think of comfort, right? Have a pristine, hotel-like bathroom by practicing these tips:

Photo by Dan Watson on Unsplash

Keep your sink from getting scratched
Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can scratch your sink. Those scratches become magnets for grease, soap scum and dirt. Scrubbing the sink with a solution of 1 tablespoon ammonia to 1 gallon of water will dissolve them and bring back your sink’s shine. A solution of 1 teaspoon of trisodium phosphate to a gallon of water effectively removes grease and soap scum build up as well. Also known as TSP, trisodium phosphate, a degreasing agent, can be found at most hardware stores in white powder form. Source: HomeGuides.SFGate

Maintain a clean sink
Regularly wash your sink with soap and water. You can prevent dirt and stains from building up in the first place by gently washing your sink after every use. Use a little dish soap and a soft, non-abrasive sponge, and rinse thoroughly with clean water.  Source: WikiHow

Remove stains right away
De-stain surfaces with lemon juice. We’ve got a sure remedy for stained sinks: Erase those spots with a paste made of one-half cup of powdered borax and the juice of one-half lemon. Dab a sponge in the mixture, rub, and rinse with running water—it’ll work like a charm whether your sink is made of porcelain enamel, stainless steel, or any other material.

Get rid of mineral deposits
Use vinegar on your lime. The white spots that you have so much trouble cleaning off the faucets are lime deposits from mineral-rich hard water. They’re very easy to remove with a secret ingredient that’s already in your pantry: vinegar. Soak a paper towel in vinegar, and wrap the towel around the spotted area. Wait 10 minutes and then buff with a dry paper towel. This works well on all fixtures except brass or colored fixtures; using vinegar on these surfaces may discolor them. Source: RD

Cleaning Tips for Stubborn Toilet Stains

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Are you finding it difficult to remove ring stains in your toilet? With the following ingredients, you’ll have plenty of effective solutions to choose from.

Coca-Cola
Get rid of stubborn toilet bowl stains with a 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola. Pour the full can around the rim of your toilet so it coats the toilet bowl and let the soda sit for an hour. The acid in the Coca-Cola will break down the stains. After an hour, scrub the bowl with a toilet brush and flush. Source: BrightNest

Vinegar
Most people reach for bleach to obliterate toilet germs and stains. However, Green living expert Mark Lallanilla says that plain old white vinegar is not only an effective cleaner, but also safer than chlorine bleach. To eliminate hard water stains, soak toilet paper in vinegar and place directly on top of the stain. Let the vinegar-soaked paper sit overnight. The next morning, flush to rinse and the stains should be gone.

Lallanilla says that full-strength vinegar also works great on grout and caulk. Use a spray bottle to saturate the area and let it soak in for at least an hour before rinsing. Source: TheSpruce

Water softener
Often times stubborn toilet bowl rings are directly the result of hard water deposits. While you can always take some time to clean the ring after it appears, it is usually better to stop the problem from ever forming in the first place. If you can afford to do it, install a water softener in your home and have it maintained properly. This should reduce a large number of water related problems not just in the bathroom, but throughout the rest of the house as well. Source: Cleaning.Tips

Borax powder
Borax powder is a very powerful cleaning agent that’s not found in a supermarket, but in a hardware store. Shut the water supply to the toilet tank and empty the bowl by flushing it once. Sprinkle the powder directly on the stains and rub them with a toilet brush. After scrubbing, let the powder sit for thirty minutes. Then reconnect the water supply to the tank and flush the toilet. Bathroom Ideas for the Modern Family

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

The bathroom may be the smallest room in your house, but it does not mean you can’t have a stylish and classy space. You can have it designed with new showers and bathtubs as well as tiles. Contact professionals and get ideas on various choices. Give your bathroom a modern look following below ideas:

How to Design Bathroom

Tub

There is so much fun in designing the bathroom. If you are looking for a bathtub and shower, visit showersly.com/best-freestanding-tubs-reviews and choose what suits your budget. A bathtub is a good idea to give your bathroom a modern look. It adds luxury to the household and it can be a place to keep warm during the cold seasons.

Mirror

You will need mirrors to make sure you clean your whole body properly before stepping out of your bathroom. Consider framing the mirror and sticking it on the bathroom walls. Mastic adhesive can be used to install a tile frame around it. You can also go for creative wooden frames or molding or have one customized for you. Add sconces to both sides of the mirror to brighten the space and remove shadows when looking into the mirror.

Tiles

There are different tile designs that will give your bathroom a beautiful look. Go for wall tiles that are long lasting, easy to clean and mold resistance. Give your bathroom floor a rough, colorful texture to avoid falls on slippery tiles. Do not overlook the aspect of safety, especially in homes with small children and older individuals. Safety and function should go together.

Storage

You will need space for your bathroom. Your modern family bathroom will want to have ample storage. Install shelving units and fixtures that are well suited to bathroom. No matter the size of the bathroom, you can make it stylish by choosing accessories and features that compliment your colors. Having storage is an important component of keeping your modern family bathroom neat and well organized. You can make a trendy modern family bathroom design in any room no matter what the size or shape.

Paints

What’s the best paint to use? Semi-gloss paint is a great choice because you can easily wipe down markings and stains e.g. from dirty/oily hands. This is important, especially if you have children, or someone working a ‘dirty’ job. If you use flat paint, the frequent wiping will cause the paint to chip, requiring a repaint soon after. In addition, semi-gloss paint has reflective qualities, and can help to boost your lighting, making the room warmer. Choose paints with that give your bathroom a smooth touch.

You can keep your bathroom looking good and modern by giving it a touch of class when remodeling it. It will save you some money if you plan on what to purchase for your bathroom as well. Make a budget and stick to it. Work on the cost of materials and labor and give your bathroom that wow look. It is very possible to give your bathroom a modern and trendy appearance without breaking the bank. Plan well and enjoy your baths.

How Do Waterless Toilets Work?

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

The concept of waterless toilets might sound outdated, right? Well, if you picture that traditional outdoor structure, then it might. But in reality, a waterless toilet is actually a modern household appliance that greatly helps save on water. In some parts of the globe, developing countries, for instance, water comes off as a luxury that cannot afford to be flushed down the drain. It should be used in moderation instead, a practice which is greatly aided by the use of waterless toilets.

As an alternative to the common flush toilet, a waterless toilet can equally provide sanitation and better still, do so on minimal infrastructure. The greatest benefit, of course, being the water conservation part. Normally, they are not connected to the sewage system, and the waste is not sent to a treatment plant. Instead, as the toilet owner, you will have to take care of it on your own, by composting. With the current designs, these toilets provide a hygienic way of recycling human waste. They are several types of these toilets to choose from, and a comprehensive list can be found on homeworthylist.com.

Why Waterless Toilets?

Apart from the obvious reason of saving on water, these toilets also come with other numerous benefits. They are incredibly flexible as they can be conveniently put up whenever there is a need. They are easy to install and repair in case of damages. You can click this link to find out more about the best repair kits for your toilet.

Here is a list of key benefits of waterless toilets:

Water Conservation

These toilets, unlike flush toilets, do not require water in the disposal of human waste. They are ideal for those in areas faced with frequent water shortages. Additionally, they help to cut down on water costs, which could otherwise be high with the use of flush toilets.

Reduced Odor

Most waterless toilets feature a smart ventilation system design that enables a reduction in odor. As a result, there is no need for chemicals, in the name of detergents to help keep the bad smell away.

Eco-Friendly

waterless-toiletsWastes from these toilets can be safely recycled. Composting toilets convert human waste into compost that can be used in the garden. It eliminates the need for waste treatment which usually involves harmful chemicals that are eventually released into water bodies.

How Waterless Toilets Operate

Waterless toilets work in a smart way to hygienically convert human waste into compost. As the waste collects into the separate collection chamber, usually located below the toilet pedestal, air is fanned through to speed up composting. The air also helps fan way bad odor. Any liquid accompanying the waste is separated into a small trench where it is eventually evaporated by the fanning action.

These toilets can be purchased together with a greywater treatment system to conveniently integrate an on-site wastewater management system. They are quite a number of manufactured waterless toilets, composting toilets in particular, with different features as explained below:

Types of Composting Toilets

Batch Composting Toilets

Just as the name suggests, this system facilitates waste composting in batches. They come with several composting chambers, at least two, that are used alternately. As soon as one is filled, it is replaced with the second one. The filled one is left to compost to maturity before the compost is used in the garden. When fully emptied, it can then be used to replace the second one when full, and the process goes on and on.

Continuous Composting Toilets

This system features one large composting chamber that allows for a continuous composting process. As the waste is converted into compost, the older material settles at the bottom and is easily accessed and removed through the access hatch.

Hybrid Composting Toilets

This composting system combines the processes of both the batch and continuous composting toilets. The collecting chamber, when full, feeds the finishing tray at the base, where composting takes place. The mature compost is removed and used in the garden as the new batch is again fed into the finishing tray by the rotating handle.

Waterless toilets are an ideal alternative to flush toilets, especially for those in areas frequently affected by water shortages. They greatly help reduce water consumption and still provide sanitation by hygienically managing human waste. Composting toilets convert human waste into compost that can be used in the garden. They eliminate the need for waste treatment which usually comes with negative environmental implications.

Tips on Creating an Eco-Friendly Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Every single effort counts when it comes to taking care of the environment. Start practicing environmentally-safe habits right at home by choosing to do the following tips:

Photo by Icons8 team on Unsplash

Buy a low-flow toilet
Toilets use approximately 27% of the water consumed in your home — more than any other appliances or plumbing — including the washing machine, dishwasher and shower. Replacing your old toilet with a low-flow model is a great place to start when greening your bathroom. Newer homes will boast more efficient low-flow toilets installed by their contractor, but those found in older homes can use up to a whopping 7 gallons per flush. While low-flow toilets used to get a bad rap for boasting a less than desirable flush, sometimes requiring users to hit the handle twice, modern low-flow toilets provide ample flushing power while still using just a fraction of the water. Source: Inhabitat

Install aerators
One of the easiest, most cost-effective water conservation measures you can make is the addition of aerators to faucets. These devices, retailing for less than $5, screw onto the faucet head and add air to lower water flow from 2 to 4 gpm down to 1 gpm, but still provide a feeling of high water pressure. Source: AngiesList

Use organic towels
Next time you have to replace your bath towels, choose organic cotton. Conventional cotton is one of the most water-intensive and polluting crops on the planet. Don’t go out and replace your perfectly good old towels with organic ones, though. The lowest-impact choice you can make is to buy nothing. But when your old towels are starting to fall apart, go organic. Source: Care2

Switch to a tankless water heater
Replacing a tanked water heater with a tankless model will reduce the amount of energy consumed and the cost to heat water. A tankless water heater will heat only what is needed, when it’s needed. Plus, it doesn’t require a pilot light, so it emits less carbon dioxide and improves indoor air quality. Source: HGTV

A dual flush toilet can help you minimize your water consumption. Choose from the latest models as you browse through our website or call us for assistance.

5 Ways on How to Achieve a Well-Maintained Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

The bathroom is mostly the bane of most proud homeowners’ life. It is probably the place that you spend most time cleaning since it is the place where there is a constant battle against grime, bacteria, mold, and dirt. As a result, it is essential to maintain a clean and fresh bathroom.

With that, here are a few tips on how you can achieve this:

1. Adequate storage.

Having your bathroom in order and throwing out any unnecessary items can go a long way when cleaning your bathroom and creating adequate space. Most probably, you have a lot of products in your bathroom that are not necessary and rarely use them.

These items and products such as used empty shampoo containers, conditioners containers and other bottles take up space in your bathroom, creating a feeling of crowdedness in your bathroom. Crowded areas are more difficult to clean and maintain. Get rid of these unused items and leave only useful products. If you do not have a drawer or cupboard, you can put them in one container to make it more organized.

2. Ventilation is crucial.

When taking showers and baths a lot of steam is produced. You should know that proper ventilation is vital to get rid of this steam. The steam tends to settle on the bathroom walls which can cause molds to grow. If your bathroom does not have a window, then you can install an extractor fan to get rid of the steam. Even though this seems like a tedious job, it is essential. Having a damp bathroom will always be unhygienic, unpleasant and dirty.

3. Get rid of the curtains wet materials.

Shower curtains are subjected to a lot of moisture regularly, and they are rarely adequately dried. Dump curtains create a conducive environment for bacteria to breed which is not good for you if you want a clean and hygienic bathroom. To avoid this, you should swap the curtains with simple, and modern shower screen which are easy to wipe clean after using your bathroom. Shower screens are easy to maintain. You do not have to swap them each time to make your bathroom look more spacious.

You can also exchange your curtains with easy-to-clean blinds which will give your bathroom a fresher look and also molds are much less likely to grow in them. Also, it is important to dry all other wet materials like towels, and bathmat after every use. If molds grow in your bathroom, you can look for solutions from mold removal experts Ferro Canada.

4. Avoid oil stains or rings.

Getting rings and stains out is not a fun thing to do, and therefore, you should avoid their formation as much as possible. Avoid the formation of oil stains and rings by rinsing your bathtub using warm water. If the stains are already formed, clean and scrub the tub using abrasive cleaners. You should clean as often as possible in order to maintain a spotless bathroom.

5. Clean grout.

There are little crevices between the tiles in your bathrooms which can hold drops of water which can easily lead to the growth of mold and mildew. You can use a mixture of water and bleach to scrub the tile to clean bacteria out and prevent the development of molds. Also, do not forget to remove the bleach with warm water and a pH neutral cleaner to protect your skin and eyes from burning while you use the shower next time.

It is essential to maintain your bathroom on a regular basis since it is the one place that can easily be affected by bacterias. The bathroom should be a comfort zone for you everytime you use it. The above few tips will help you maintain a clean and hygienic bathroom.

Amazing Health Benefits of Steam

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Who knew that you can benefit so much from just sitting in your steam shower? If you don’t have one yet, then the following reasons will surely have you placing an order in no time:

Photo by Tom Grimbert on Unsplash

Reduced blood pressure
Research shows that in a steam room, some people’s bodies release hormones that change their heart rate. One of these hormones, called aldosterone, regulates your blood pressure. When aldosterone is released from sitting in the steam room, it can help lower high blood pressure. This is part of the reason that the steam room makes you feel relaxed.

Stress relief
Being in the steam room can also decrease your body’s production of cortisol. Cortisol is the hormone that regulates the level of stress that you feel. When your cortisol levels drop, you feel more in control and relaxed. Spending a few minutes in a relaxed state not only improves your health, but also helps heal your mind and improve your focus. Source: HealthLine

Solution for problem skin
If you suffer from dry skin or conditions that get easily irritated by extremely drying weather or sweating (hello eczema and dermatitis), then a steam room could be a far better friend to you than a sauna. Hart notes that the warm, damp air will work to drench the skin in moisture, hydrating rather than stripping it. Oily, acne-prone skin could benefit too, as the moisture can help to rebalance overactive sebum glands while the heat and humidity work to simultaneously unclog and cleanse. Source: Byrdie

Faster recovery from a workout
During exercise, metabolic waste is built up in muscles, which causes soreness and fatigue. Combining a steam shower with a cold bath or shower can help flush out this waste. Alternating between the heat of the steam and the cold bath causes a pumping action in the capillaries and rids muscles of the waste. Alternate between one minute of steam and one minute of cold water to initiate the pumping action. Source: LiveStrong

If you think the best thing you could ever fit in your bathroom is a steam shower, then wait till you see a steam shower combined with a whirlpool tub. Imagine all the health benefits you can get! It’s like having your own spa at home. Call us to find out more!

Optimal Places to Place a Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

The battle for the bathroom is a common occurrence across homes throughout the world. Even people primarily living alone may run into this issue when hosting guests. When the issue about adding another bathroom to the house comes up, space and cost are usually the biggest concerns; but to the surprise of many, space isn’t as big of an issue as originally perceived.

bath-bathroom-bathtub

A 3 by 5-foot area is usually all that is required to fit a toilet and sink. If you have a couple more feet to spare, a 5 by 5 can accommodate a small walk-in shower as well. Some common advantages of an additional bathroom can be convenience, adding value to your home, and the additional privacy of not having guests in your private bath.

Let’s look at where you can add a bathroom in the home – and where they are needed most.

Close to Living and Recreational Spaces

In a lot of homes, the placement of the bathroom is usually located closer to the bedrooms or in a central location between both living and sleeping spaces. The idea of having a bathroom close to the den or living room can be very attractive. And for the ultimate man cave, a toilet close by is an absolute necessity. It’s not uncommon to find a coat closet, staircase or hallway in or adjacent to a living space, as they can be the perfect spaces to install a half bath.

When hosting guests, it can be cumbersome to explain directions to the bathroom multiple times, especially if your home is larger or of unique design. Wouldn’t it be easier to just leave the door to your new bathroom open when unoccupied, so everyone can plainly see and take note when the urge to go arises?

Between Two Bedrooms

A convenient and efficient additional bathroom can be used to link two bedrooms together. This arrangement is commonly called a Jack and Jill style bathroom. This can be great for homes with children. Some well-designed Jack and Jill setups allow the use of private areas like the shower and toilet separate from the sink, counter and vanity area.

This style can be an efficient use of your space. Some standard bathrooms can even be converted in some home layouts. You can also save cash by incorporating this design compared to two separate bathrooms: why build and plumb another bathroom when you can frame in a door for less?

Split Your Pre-Existing Bathroom

This may seem like strange advice, but spend some time thinking about the size of your bathroom. Many homeowners possess bathrooms that can be much larger than necessary. Most of the plumbing has already been ran, allowing you to tap into water and drain pipes without making long and costly runs of pipe; this can be one of the major advantages of splitting your already existing bathroom. Though it sounds silly at first, making use of an over-sized bathroom by splitting it can give you the extra bathroom you need at a lower cost.

An additional bathroom is probably one of the most wished-for additions in smaller and older homes. Even in small homes, where it may seem unlikely to have the space, room can be found to make this addition. These optimal places for a new bathroom can potentially save time, frustration and money, depending on your exact configuration.

3 Ways to Improve Blood Circulation

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Poor blood circulation can cause a number of other problems that you’ll surely hate dealing with. Varicose veins, numbness, exhaustion, and dizziness are only some of the common symptoms you’ll experience, unless you do something to improve your blood circulation. Try any of the following:

Soak in a whirlpool bathtub
The combination of warm water and massage jets in a whirlpool promote better blood circulation. They help your blood vessels dilate, or open up, allowing more oxygen and nutrients to flow to major organs. This is particularly beneficial to those who have arthritis. Improved circulation can encourage better movement and less pain and stiffness in your joints. Source: LiveStrong

Don’t forget your roots
Ginger, onions, and garlic are three items that you’ll definitely want to add to your grocery list – not only they stimulate and improve the health of the circulatory system – but also because they’re just good for you.  Fresh ginger root is anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, improves digestion, and can soothe all forms of nausea.  Garlic and onions contain organosulfur compounds which help the body to fight off infection, eliminate toxins from the liver and blood, and can even keep biting insects away. Source: NaturalLivingIdeas

Stay active
Anything that aids in general fitness should boost your circulation. When you work out, try both:

  • Cardiovascular training. Swimming, biking, running, playing sports, etc. Aerobic activity will improve heart and blood vessel function.
  • Strength training. Strength training (lifting weights) will help you build muscle, which in turn increases the effectiveness of cardiovascular and lymph circulation.
  • Every hour, get up and try 3 to 5 minutes’ worth of stretching or small exercise. This is especially handy if you’re at a desk all day and barely get a chance to walk around. Try doing little arm circles, touching your hands to your toes, kicking out your feet, or performing small, slowjumping jacks (enough to get your heart rate up). Source: WikiHow

Things You Shouldn’t Keep in the Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

We usually do a lot of our grooming in the bathroom, which is why it’s where we store most of the things we need for getting ready in the morning. But did you know that there are things best kept away from the bathroom? Here are some of them:

Toothbrush
Collective ewwwwws all around. You knew your toothbrush was going to be on this list! All of us have been (or are) guilty of storing our toothbrushes by the bathroom…maybe even near the toilet (gross).

When it comes to storing what you put in your mouth so close to the toilet (again, gross), scientists from Louisiana’s Quinnipiac University warn you may be brushing with more than toothpaste. Not only was fecal matter detected on 60-percent of toothbrushes stored in shared bathrooms, the toothbrushes were also contaminated with the fecal matter, bacteria, and potential viruses and parasites from cohabitants of the same shared space. Source: ActiveBeat

Extra towels
You should only bring a towel in the bathroom when you’re headed for a bath or shower, and then leave it to dry somewhere else.

Why?

Because towels absorb the humidity in the room and can begin to smell before you’ve even used it, especially if you store them in a cupboard in the bathroom.

The solution? Just bring one in, dry yourself, then hang it to dry somewhere else. And keep your towels in a linen closet away from the bathroom. Source: TheSpruce

Medicine
We know, we know: It’s called a “medicine” cabinet. But really, your prescription should stay far away from moisture and at room temperature (between 68 and 77 degrees). The drugs could lose their effectiveness if not stored in a cool and dry place. Source: GoodHousekeeping

Razor blades
Store any extra razor blades or shaving utensils out of water’s way. Lingering moisture and steam from showers and baths can dull blades and promote rust, rendering them ineffective and possibly harmful. Source: BHG

Ways to clear your mind and destress when studying

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Why Taking a Bath Is the Best Way to Recharge While Writing an Essay?

Writing an essay is an activity that may require some energy recharge. The best way to relax and catch an inspiration is by taking a bath.

Stuck on an Essay? Take a Bath to Recharge!

No matter the situation, no matter the time and place, you still would prefer taking a bath rather than doing anything on the planet. Seriously, think about it. What can be better than a feeling of soft bubbles on your skin, warm water, and scented candles all over the place? Let`s not be sexist here, alright? Boys do take baths with all of those attributes, they just never tell. All because a bath is the best anti-stress treatment that has ever been created. By the way, it was created by Ancient Romans and the people who were in charge of origination of all modern culture couldn`t be wrong.

Baths aren`t just about personal hygiene, it`s about getting you back on track in that mental race of thoughts, ideas, and creative activities. Let`s say, you`re writing an essay (which can be considered to be an easy task only in a parallel universe). If the deadline is creeping on you like the maniac in the best traditional movie by Alfred Hitchcock, then, naturally, you`ll feel all stressed out. It`s like a vicious circle that will become a significant obstacle on your way to a good result of the productive work.

The less time is left, the more anxious you feel, the less you can concentrate on the task. And this disturbing and familiar scheme can be applied to pretty much any daily activity. There are two ways out which we can propose you in this particular situation. When you feel like the task is too overwhelming, the only thing you should do is to look for “write my essay UK” on the Internet and the source of your stress will disappear into thin air because you`ll get a high-quality help from professional writers. The other way is to try to balance your thoughts and time, achieve an inner peace, and establish a trusting relationship with your creative self. You can do that by taking a bath. And we`ve got the proof for you why it`s super beneficial.

Breathe in, Breathe Out

What does your brain need to turn the whole creative capacity on? Chocolate? Maybe. Special music for work? It depends. Oxygen? That`s right! The simplest answer of all and it`s your brain`s best friend. It literally can`t live without it. Well, no more than seven minutes to be specific. When your blood vessels are saturated with oxygen, your thinking capacity becomes much better at performing its functions. What does it have to do with the bath?

When you breathe in the steam of hot water, you start breathing faster, the oxygen intake rises, and it results in activating the brain work. You feel like the process of breathing happens in the most natural way, it makes your body feel all relaxed and calm. Isn`t that the best condition for writing your essay? A quick friendly reminder: don`t take the laptop to the bathroom, it won`t end well. In case of the accident, the even bigger stress is guaranteed.

We Float, We Relax

If you ever decide to break the worldwide stereotype that people can`t fly and start practicing what it feels like, just visit the Dead Sea. It`s so salty that you can just lie in there floating with no need to make any movement to stay on the surface. This is a very relaxing activity which is proved to be incredibly beneficial for your nervous system and overall mental health. Taking into consideration that you`re not likely to book a flight to Jordan or Israel in order to write an essay or a report, you should bring the Dead Sea into your apartment.

The feeling of floating is incredibly relaxing and if you`ve been feeling the physical and psychological tension, anxiety or overwhelming pressure, a salty bathroom will be the best option to get you back in the saddle so you can continue with the creative work in the most productive way.

Practically an Official Medicine

Baths are widely used as a treating method to help patients with chronic fatigue syndrome. This is a condition of mind and body when no matter how much you take your time to relax, sleep, and recharge your energy, nothing helps. It`s not a rare disease among the people who populate huge cities. Nowadays, it has a lot to do with information overload, too much time spent on social media, and an enormous amount of human interaction. Baths are often prescribed by doctors as the way to ease the symptoms of this condition. Also, it can be a good way to prevent it and get a much-needed vitality restoring.

A Bathroom Is a Happy Place

woman-relaxing-in-bathtub

When you`re taking a bath, your body feels so thankful and joyful that it`s being flooded with serotonin which is a hormone of happiness. You feel its rush while eating chocolate or having sex. Bath isn`t quite the same as both of those things, but it can become some sort of an alternative. What is more, this procedure helps to keep the level of most hormones balanced. This is crucial for your health and overall well-being.

Combine It with Meditation

If you want to turn your time of taking a bath into the most relaxing and refreshing experience, you can add meditation to the process. Light up aroma candles to calm down your nerves, turn on the lounge music, and expect the creativity to visit you very soon. It`s recommended to meditate in a bathroom for around 15 minutes which will be enough to get to the state of calmness and peacefulness.

While you`re still with us, let me remind you that taking a bath too often may be, of course, beneficial for your mental and physical health, but it won`t be for nature. You won`t use so much water taking a shower. So, remember that moderation is the key here.

Bathroom Safety Tips to Keep in Mind

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Bathroom Safety Tips

Your bathroom is a workhorse in the house and it’s also a space where we can retreat for a relaxing spa-like session in the evening.  It can be one of the only quiet spaces in a household with few people!  It’s also a place where, for a variety of reasons, safety might be an issue.  It pays to be aware of hazards in your bathroom and how to prevent injuries.

  1. Keep electrical grooming tools away from water. This is a big one, and we often see it ridiculed in comedies, but electrocution is no laughing matter.  Don’t use your hairdryer, electric razors, or other styling tools anywhere where there’s a chance you’ll drop them in water and find yourself at risk for a shock.bathroom-safety-precautions
  2. Make sure that bath mats are secure against the floor. Bath mats are wonderful to step out onto after you’ve showered or bathed, but they can also offer a slipping or tripping hazard.  The best mats have a rubberized bottom so that they won’t slip and end in a bad fall.
  3. While showering you’ve no doubt noticed that the tub can become very slippery. A great idea is to invest in a rubberized anti-slip mat for inside the tub.  Some of them even come with suction cups on the bottom.  You can either leave it in place if everyone showers, or drape it over the tub to dry if there’s a chance someone will be having a bath instead.
  4. Wall handles on the tub are also a great idea, especially if your household incorporates little ones or seniors. This can help not only to prevent a slip but also to help people with limited mobility in and out of the bathtub.  In serious cases of limited mobility, it’s also a great idea to have a handle installed by the toilet.
  5. It’s not nice to think about anyone walking in on you when you’re using the bathroom, and most of them have locks on the doors. If you have children, however, you might want to rethink this when they’re small – especially before they’re school aged.  A small child can get into a lot of trouble behind a locked door and they might not be aware of how to unlock it.
  6. Keep sharp objects tucked away in a high, safe location. This can include razors, nail clippers, or tweezers.  It’s best to keep these objects hidden from sight from young children who may hurt themselves trying to use them.
  7. Keep your light bulbs changed. There are so many obstacles and hard surfaces in a bathroom that a fall can become disastrous.  Lighting is key, so you’ll want to ensure that burnt out bulbs are replaced quickly, and that the lighting you have is in a good location to light up any potential hazards.

The inevitable, of course, happens no matter how safety conscious we are. However, with a little foresight and a keen eye for potential hazards, your bathroom can be made a lot safer.

How to Choose the Best Plant for Your Bathroom

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Decorating your bathroom with plants won’t just make it look prettier, it will also help freshen up the air inside. Find out which plant to buy as you continue reading below:

Photo by Nick Karvounis on Unsplash

Lighting and Humidity
The bathroom’s moist environment is generally good for plants. But you should choose ones that can cope with the room’s wide temperature fluctuations — warm when someone is showering and cold when it’s left unused for several hours.

And since many bathrooms receive low levels of sunlight, plants should be able to cope with that too.

In fact, the most important thing is to pick plants that suit the level of natural light in your bathroom, Unsworth says. They should also suit the level of care you’re prepared to give them. Ferns, for example, require far more care to survive than succulents do.

Tropical plants are a good choice for bathrooms since they typically can deal with less direct sunlight than other plant species. They’re designed to grow in a rainforest, beneath a canopy of trees, which makes them ideal for indoor environments. Source: Houzz

Location
Bathrooms tend to be on the smaller side, so space for greenery is often limited. Large or tall plants don’t often work in bathrooms for this reason. A better option is to choose plants that can hang from the ceiling, or will trail down from a high shelf. The windowsill is another great location for bathroom plants, particularly as they can enjoy maximum light exposure here. Source: NaturalLivingIdeas

Plants for Low-Light Bathrooms:

  • Aloe Vera
  • Bamboo
  • Begonia
  • Boston Fern
  • Cast Iron Plant
  • Chinese Evergreen
  • Ficus Benjamina
  • Heart-Leafed Philodendron
  • Orchid
  • Peace Lily
  • Spider Plant
  • Dieffenbachia
  • Snake Plant

Plants for Bright and Sunny Bathrooms:

  • Asparagus Fern
  • Azalea
  • Gardenia
  • Kimberly Fern
  • Orchid

3 Common Bathroom Problems and How to Solve Them

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

The relaxing nature of a good warm bath helps us realize things that we don’t normally think about — such as the secrets of the universe or the reason we exist. However, if bathroom problems such as the following exist, they can steal your attention away from your dreamy thoughts. Don’t let these problems ruin your well-deserved alone time:

Photo by Daniel Fazio on Unsplash

Over-splashing tap
Selecting the right design will save you some frustration because the wrong tap with the wrong sink can certainly land you in a watery situation. You certainly don’t want a wet floor each time you turn the tap on! The placement of the sink with the tap defines how much splash it creates. If the sink is too close to the standing tap, the water may spill over the edge when it is initially turned on. The space of the sink also has a part to play as it would guide the water into the sink hole. An overhead tap mounted on the wall would have to be positioned correctly over the sink hole to ensure faster drainage. Also note that some sinks don’t come with overflow holes, so be mindful when you shop. Source: HomeAndDecor

Leaky shower
You may be able to put up with a leaky shower head for a little while, but it’ll cost you on your water bills. On top of that, the excess moisture being leaked to unplanned areas could create mold issues. Fixing your showerhead could be as easy as replacing a gasket, and you can often diagnose it on your own. Source: TheSpruce

Slow drain
Most tub and shower clogs are caused by hair. A simple fix is to remove the drain cover, straighten a wire coat hanger, then bend one end into a small hook. Push the hook down the drain and into the U-shape trap a few inches down. Then twist it around, and carefully pull it back. Chances are good you will have hooked the sizable hairball that was causing your slow drain. Source: BHG

If your leaky fixtures are a recurring problem, replacing them with higher quality ones is the answer! Call us today.

How to Pick the Best Shower Head

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Shower heads come in various shapes and forms. They are also used for different kinds of showering. This is not to mention the fact that they are numerous by reason of being manufactured by many players.

For these reasons, great care and caution have to be exercised while searching for the right shower head. This can only be achieved if several factors are considered. These form the gist of the conversations that follow hereunder:

HOW TO PICK THE BEST SHOWER HEAD

Type of Shower head

  • There are three main kinds of shower heads namely fixed, hand-held, and hand showers, respectively. The fixed types are permanently mounted on the walls.
LED-shower-head

LED Shower Head

  • The hand-held types are equipped with a flexible hose or tube. They grant you the freedom to move around and about the bathroom while showering. The hand showers, on the other hand, are 2-in-1 in the sense that they combine both features of the fixed and the hand showers at the same time.

  • The last type is by far the best of the three. This is because it allows you to enjoy the benefits of the remaining two at a time. It is, however, more expensive.

Water Discharge Rates

  • This refers to the amount of water that the shower head is capable of discharging per unit time. It is designated gpm which stands for gallons per minute. A good shower head under this consideration ought to be moderate (from 1 gpm-2.5 gpm). This is to assure you of great showering experience while not subjecting you to hefty utility bills.

Spray Pattern

  • In which way does the shower eject water? Shower heads can eject water in the following main ways: pulse, jet, rain, mist, massage, or aeration respectively.

  • Luxury-rain-shower-head

    Luxury Rain Shower Head

Quite a number can also eject water in all or a combination of any two or more of the said patterns. It is therefore in your best interest to ascertain your desired pattern after which you are to acquire that shower head that is well able to meet that need.

  • Just in case your search for the right shower head is dictated by the need to fulfill some therapeutic needs or value, the massaging shower head is by all means strongly recommended.

Energy Consumption

  • Most modern shower heads require electrical energy to operate. This is mainly because they have some intelligent features that are not found in ordinary showerheads. These include the ability to eject water at a predefined pressure level and flow rate.

  • That notwithstanding, a good shower head has to consume moderate quantities of electrical energy. This, of course, is to spare you from the need to pay hefty electricity/utility bills. While searching for the right shower head, be sure to check the flow rate and pressure rating since these two determine the electricity consumption rates.

Material Construction

  • The kinds of materials that are used to make up the shower head determine how long and how frequent you may utilize the shower head. In case you plan to use the shower head regularly or for a prolonged duration of time, you must choose a durable shower head. Hard plastics, solid brass, and stainless steel have proven to be strong, durable, and reliable in the long-run. You should consider giving them the shower heads that are manufactured by them a top most priority.

Finishes

  • Apart from the material construction, the finishes that are used to adorn the exterior surfaces of the shower heads also matter. They do so for the same reasons as those of the material construction. The oil-rubbed bronze, brushed or polished chrome, brushed or polished nickel, Copper, polished or antique brass, white, and off-white, are some of the most reliable finishes. You should look up to them in your search for the right shower head.

Controls

  • Control features are those that you use to vary and determine the various aspects of the shower. These include the temperature, flow rate, pressure, and direction of water flow, among others. A good shower head ought to be less sophisticated to control. This is to spare you from the likelihood of grappling with unnecessary hassles while showering.

Of course, there are several other actors that equally matter. Due to the limited time and space at our disposal, we just could not exhaust all of them. We, therefore, urge you to consider digging deeper in order to familiarize yourself with them.

Whether you’re going out with your special someone or staying at home to celebrate your love for each other, a romantic bath experience is the best way to wrap up your day. All you need is the following:

Photo by Aaron Huber on Unsplash

Clean bathroom
It will be difficult to create a romantic atmosphere in a dirty bathroom. To set up the most romantic evening possible, you’ll need to make sure nothing in the bathroom is dirty or grimy. This includes not only the bathtub, but the rest of your bathroom as well. Mop or sweep the floor, wash out the bathtub, and clean all surfaces, including the sink.   It’s not necessary to spend hours cleaning, but making the bathroom look presentable is important. Candlelight
Restore that healthy glow with a liberal sprinkling of candlelight. Tea lights are easy to use, make little mess and are easy to throw away once cooled. Don’t place candles where you may splash water on them. Source: SheKnows

Champagne
Celebrate your time together with a romantic toast. Keep a bucket with ice in it nearby for refills. Use this couple time to renew promises or vows with each other. Or, just revel in actually having couple time. Complete the moment with romantic finger foods on a silver platter nearby. Source: SheKnows

Music
Your choice of music will have a major effect on your mood (and that of your partner if you’re having a bubble bath for two), so take the time to give some thought to this essential component of the ambiance.

Do you want to create a serene, meditative, spa-like experience? There are many albums of relaxing instrumental spa music by different composers in different styles that you can choose from.

Not in the mood to “bliss out” this time? Pick your favorite songs. They can be relaxing, upbeat, funky, Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Usher, Bruno Mars – just ask yourself what you’re in the mood for! Source: Holidappy

Fitting in a bathtub designed for only one person isn’t as fun as soaking in a whirlpool tub made for two people. Get one for your home so you can look forward to fancier bath dates with your significant other. Call us!

Ways to maintain your bathroom sparkling clean

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Are you worried that your bathroom is not as clean as the rest of your house? The reason may be you are not doing the right things to keep it clean, or you are using the wrong cleaning methods. It is everyone’s dream to see their sink sparkling clean and the tiles all shiny. Therefore, if you would want to make your bathroom look neat and clean, the following are some tips to help you.

Tips on how to maintain your bathroom sparkling clean

Empty your trash can

How long does it take before you empty your bathroom trash can? Even a small detail such as this can cause your bathroom seems unity or tidy. Also keeping piled up trash causes the room to smell bad or even seem full and disorganized. Therefore, after cleaning your bathroom, make sure to empty the trash can and rinse it before you put it back. Note that even though you don’t necessarily clean the entire bathroom on a daily basis, emptying the box should be done daily.

Clean up the shower area

Best Steam Shower Product Reviews

Best Steam Shower

No matter how careful you are while bathing using a shower, there will always be soap lathers that get stuck on the walls. So, the more you leave the lather on the wall, the more it gets stuck on the wall thus discoloring it. So to avoid this, make an effort of cleaning the walls of the shower area after every shower session. Also, splash some fresh and clean water in the shower head and the handlebar to remove any soap that may be there. Once in a while maybe in a week, use vinegar and the floor of the shower area for optimum cleansing.

Dry your towels with a drier

Do not leave your towels in the bathroom while moist. This is because there is no enough lighting or warmth in the area hence your towel may take long before it dries up. This causes it to produce a foul smell. So what is the solution to this? Every time you finish up with your towel, put it in a dryer machine for about five minutes to get rid of all the moist that may be in it or instead, you can dry it outside and put it back once it completely dries off the water. Visit thinktankhome.com to learn what to look out for when buying a dryer machine to use in your home.

Rinse your sink and mirror after every brush and shave.

This is an easy to do task since you can do it as you brush or shave. Toothpaste will always sprinkle on the mirror when brushing your teeth or shaving not unless you are not doing it while looking in the mirror. So, to ensure that you leave these areas just the way you found them, make sure you splash water on the mirror to clean off the paste and shave residuals. Also, run water on the sink as you scrub it with your hands to get rid of the dirty water.

Considering the bathroom is a small room in the house, it is quite easy to maintain its cleanliness using the above-discussed tips which are quite easy to practice to ensure that your bathroom retains its sparkle all the time. Buy easy to use fixtures such as the bathtubs and faucets and ensure they are made of the durable and stainless steel material to prevent them from rusting due to constant use of water.

4 Ways to Warm Up During Winter

Content originally published and Shared from http://perfectbath.com

Yes, baby, it’s cold outside. So why not stay at home where you can feel more comfortable by doing these easy tips?

Photo by Toa Heftiba on Unsplash

Bundle up
Cover those places where blood flows close to the skin, Salz says. He recommends covering your wrists with a long-sleeve shirt, throwing on a sweater with a turtleneck collar to warm your neck, and pulling on socks long enough to cover your ankles. And don’t forget to cover your head — a baseball cap will do fine indoors. Source: BHG

Reverse the fan
If you’re up for a little science experiment, you can harness the physics of your ceiling fan in order to keep warm. Since warm air rises, you can use your ceiling fan to push it back down towards the ground. Simply reverse the direction of your fan and keep it on low so it doesn’t stir up a big breeze. Source: Greatist

Stay active
Get up and get moving! An active body heats up quickly – run, dance, jump until you break a sweat. You can jump for a few minutes, ride an exercise cycle or dance to your favorite music. And if you don’t mind being a little cold at first, a mile’s walk around the neighborhood will get you sweating pretty quickly. Source: WikiHow

Switch between hot and cold water in the shower
Hot showers immediately warm you up, but cold showers improve blood circulation between your skin and organs. Cold showers are also correlated with a stronger immune system. Source: MentalFloss

You know what’s the most relaxing way to stay warm during a cold winter night? Step in the sauna! Have one at your home so you can make every night a spa night. Call us!

A light reduction: mawa design | News | Architonic

With a thorough understanding of design and how things work, mawa Design of Brandenburg, Germany, develops and produces high-quality luminaires which in terms of both their technology and construction are always in step with the times. Company founder Martin Wallroth began 40 years ago with residential objects, before cooperating with external designers in the 1980s and, from that point forward, increasingly concentrating on the manufacture of luminaires. It was through his early encounter with two very different classic luminaires of the 1950s – “schliephacke” and “ssymmank” – that Wallroth saw the light, as it were. Originally developed by designer Fridtjof Schliephacke as a luminaire for a student residence hall, “schliephacke” unites a table and floor lamp and is conceived for industrial production in the spirit of the Bauhaus. For students, it was ultimately too expensive, but in the 1960s it found its way into the homes of numerous consumers with an affinity for design and in thi… continue
